Studying the old masters is said to be one of the best ways to learn - so I did a study of Albert Bierstadts "Among the Sierra Nevada, California". It's not 100% accurate but I think I learned a lot.

This is a beautiful piece! those mountains, the waterfall, the lake, the whole scenery. The cliff is amazing, the rock is very well done and I like the waterfall a lot. Same goes to the secondary waterfall and the mountains in the background. The sky was very nicely done, I love the clouds and I think you accomplished the look you were aiming for quite well.
However, the thing that stood out to me first quite oddly was a small detail. The deer seem more stiff than in the original, and in fact..they seemed lightly stiff in the original itself for me. I felt they needed more of a variety of positions, that's just me though.
The second thing I wished was a bit different was the lake. If it had reflected more of the sky's colors I think the impact would have been far greater. And other than that, everything was absolutely wonderful, great job!
